What are the symptoms of lymphedema?

You may suspect lymphedema when you begin to feel your clothes fit tighter on one side more than the other. You may notice a size difference between your limbs, and one side appears to be swollen. Other symptoms may accompany this, such as pain and discomfort.

Below is a list of common symptoms seen with lymphedema.

→Swelling of part or all of your arm, including fingers
→Swelling of part or all of your leg, including toes
→A feeling of heaviness or tightness
→Aching, pain discomfort or fullness of the involved area
→Infections
→Hardening and thickening of the skin (fibrosis)
→Reduced flexibility in the joints
→Restricted range of motion
→Tingling or burning pains

Lymphedema is not isolated to the extremities and may affect other parts of the body, internal and external, including the head and neck, axilla, trunk, hips, and genitals.
